One of Senator Williams’ greatest passions is to help young people
Providing them with opportunities to succeed, see themselves in government, and improve the world around them.
The Youth Advisory Board
A program comprised of bright young adults from Missouri District 14, that are actively involved in the community and provide insights on key issues. This board functions as the voice of District’s youth.
Commitment involves twice a month meetings that are offered both online and in person. Meetings on current issues, opportunities to speak with the Senator on district concerns, and a visit to the Capitol during the spring semester.

Legislative Literacy
YAB’s curriculum is based on legislative literacy education students on the following key concepts:
I. The legislative process
II. How to read state legislation
III. The roles of local and state government, nonprofits, and advocates in passing legislation
IV. Current events
Career Exploration
All YAB members participate in Aspirations Workshops and summer job shadowing.
During Aspirations Workshops, students identify their career and education goals and create a plan to work toward their goals.
Over the summer, YAB members are paired with professionals working in the student’s area of interest. Hosting professionals tell students their journey to their current role and explain daily tasks required of the job.
