GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS

AN AFFORDABLE COUNTY THAT WORKS FOR WORKING FAMILIES

St. Louis County should be a place where families can build a future without being priced out of their own homes. Today, rising costs—especially property taxes—are putting unnecessary strain on households and creating uncertainty for homeowners across our region.

The County Assessor raised property assessments in ways that violated Missouri law — sending tax bills soaring without the required inspections, without proper notice, and without accountability.

We need to fix the property tax system, strengthen our economy, and invest in people so our county can thrive—not just make ends meet.

As County Executive, I will focus on:

  • Fixing the broken property tax assessment system – Immediately.
  • Making the property tax assessment transparent and fair, restoring trust and predictability
  • Protecting homeowners on fixed incomes and first-time homebuyers with targeted relief programs
  • Investing in things that actually bring costs down like expanding workforce development, strengthening infrastructure, and increasing earning power resulting in a broader tax base that doesn’t rely on squeezing homeowners to cover the budget.
  • Ensuring growth benefits every part of St. Louis County-where a strong economy in Clayton or Chesterfield also means better schools and safer streets in Ferguson, Florissant, and Jennings. Rising tides should lift all boats.

When we fix what’s broken and invest in what matters, St. Louis County becomes a thriving county where people aren’t just getting by—they’re getting ahead.
